Job: Entry-Level Problem Solver

Entry-Level Job — Compensation: $40k - $80k / year + bonuses

Description

We are looking for an Entry-Level programmer, that is a problem solver at heart. We don't need an expert, we want someone with the right mindset.

What is this role?

This role does not have a formal classification, but the most similar role would be Full-Stack. Basically, we need a problem solver. You don't need to be an expert in any specific software stack.

You will be working on a wide variety of different kinds of projects, but they will usually involve Typescript or React.

To be clear this role is not well defined. This isn't the kind of role where you get Jira tickets and have sprints. This role can and will morph as the business needs, and it will adjust based on your interests.

Obviously we will ensure that your compensation reflects the value you bring to the business. We don't want to "reward" you with more work for going above and beyond.

Our top priority is to be able to deliver a one-of-a-kind software experience for our clients, and it takes the right kind of team to see that vision.

Remote?

Yes, but you need to be on an east coast schedule. We operate in the Lakewood area, but in general this role operates remotely.

We want to find the person that fits our team the best.

Mentorship

You will be working in a small tight knit team of senior level developers. We will try to make sure that you are provided as much mentoring oppertunities as you need. But we expect you to be overall independent.

The projects you will work on will be hard, but we will make sure they are within your capabilities, even if it takes you a while.

Experience Requirements

This is an Entry-Level position. While we are not looking for absolute beginners, we will consider anyone who can reasonably demonstrate they have written a bit of code.

Either some a bit of professional work experience, or have some kind of hobby project you're proud of.

Qualifications

  • You need to be comfortable reading code syntax, familiar with HTML and CSS syntax.
  • Comfortable using Git (GUI is acceptable)
  • Can demonstrate proficiency in any code editor / IDE
  • Can solve a problem without AI
  • Has high standards for your own work, even if it takes longer

What we do

We service a broad range of industries, from Retail/E-Commerce and Warehouses to Real Estate and Medical.

We offer software consulting services, building robust software solutions for our clients.

Due to the nature of what we do, we don't have a standard type of project. Many projects are designed in a unique way to perfectly service our client's needs.

AI Policy

We want to make sure all our engineers have the proper tools in their toolbox. We try our best to accomodate and pay for any AI tools, or IDEs to make sure our devs perform at their best.

That being said, while AI is an amazing innovation, we expect all of our devs to be capable of problem solving without AI, and generally understand what the AI model is writing.

What we are looking for?

We don't need a giant resume, or a bunch of projects. Honestly you don't need to have a resume.

We are looking for someone who meshes really well with the team, is a nerd about code, and is willing to give hard problems a shot.

The bar for entry for this role is deceptively low.

We are trying to build a team of next-level engineers, who will be capable of solving hard problems.

This role does not have many checkboxes in terms of qualification requirements.

The main thing we are looking for is a "diamond in the rough", someone who meshes really well with the type of work we do.
